The Cupertino City Council late last month made appointments to multiple city committees and commissions. Council members interviewed 64 applicants for 22 openings. They left a seat on the audit committee unfilled; the vacancy will be advertised again.
The Arts and Culture Commission has three new members: Archana Panda, appointed to a partial term ending Jan. 30, 2027; Gurmeet Lamba, a full term ending Jan. 30, 2029; Susan Chen, a full term.

Bicycle Pedestrian Commissioner Ilango Ganga was reappointed to a full term. Gerhard Eshelbeck was appointed to a partial term ending Jan. 30, 2027, and Munisekaran Madhdhipatla, a full term.

Elida Xhindi and Usha Narayan were both appointed to full terms on the Housing Commission. Liyan Zhao was reappointed to a full term on the Library Commission; Chandrasekaran Sakthivel and Xiangchen Xu were appointed to full terms.
Seema Swamy and Sheela Sreekanth were both reappointed to full terms on the Parks and Recreation Commission; Gopalakrishnan Kumarappan, a full term.

Planning Commissioner Steven Scharf was reappointed to a full term; Santosh Rao and Tracy Kosolcharoen were appointed to full terms.

Sashikala Begur and Ravi Kiran Singh Sapaharam were appointed to full terms on the Public Safety Commission. Sustainability Commissioner Sonali Padgaonkar was reappointed to a full term; Jack Carter, a full term.

In league with voters

Tara Martin-Milius, executive director of Leadership Sunnyvale, and her co-teacher Bruce Paton are set to speak at a Feb. 15 meeting of the League of Women Voters of Cupertino-Sunnyvale. They will explain what they do to make that program successful and how it benefits the community.

The meeting, which is open to the public, is set 2-4 p.m. at Sunnyvale Presbyterian Church, 728 W. Fremont Ave., Sunnyvale. Registration is recommended to https://lwvcs.clubexpress.com.
