Sonoma County: South Carolina man gets decades in prison for exploiting girls

By Bay City News

A South Carolina man was sentenced to 34 years in California state prison earlier this week after pleading guilty to multiple charges related to sexual exploitation of two girls, Sonoma County prosecutors said.

Jordan Evans-Ramirez, 20, on Tuesday admitted to multiple felony charges — including child sexual assault, possession of child pornography, and human trafficking of a minor — involving two 13-year-old girls, the Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement.

Evans-Ramirez’s case began in early 2024, when Santa Rosa police launched an investigation into reports of his online exploitation of a minor. A second victim was identified during the review of his social media activity toward the end of the year, prosecutors said.

According to the District Attorney’s Office, Evans-Ramirez used his social media platforms to coerce and manipulate his victims, including by threatening to share private images. He also offered money and other incentives to solicit inappropriate contact.

“I cannot imagine the psychological and physical toll that these two young girls suffered. Their bravery in coming forward brought a dangerous individual to justice and will undoubtedly prevent future harm to others,” District Attorney Carla Rodriguez said in a statement Thursday.
