Dance for veterans
The Cupertino Odd Fellows are holding a Veterans Dance Fundraiser Nov. 9, 11:30 a.m.-5 p.m., at their clubhouse, located at 20589 Homestead Road. The event benefits veterans at American Legion Post 642 in Cupertino. It features live music from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., lunch from noon to 3 p.m., and line dancing lessons from 12:30-1 p.m., followed by open dancing until 5 p.m.

Lu’s debut
In his first performance for Steinway Society—The Bay Area, Eric Lu, first-prize winner of the 2018 Leeds International Piano Competition, is set to play in concert on Saturday, Nov. 15, at 7:30 p.m. in Cupertino’s Visual and Performing Arts Center at DeAnza College. The program includes works by Schumann, Schubert and Chopin. A meet-the-artist opportunity follows the concert.
Lu first captured global attention at age 17 as a laureate of the 2015 Chopin International Piano Competition. Since then, he has performed at concert venues including Carnegie Hall, San Francisco’s Davies Symphony Hall and the Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
