Archbishop Riordan and Serra will meet as undefeated teams in a de facto West Catholic Athletic League championship game next Friday.
That outcome was set in stone after Riordan routed Archbishop Mitty 37-7 on Saturday in San Francisco, running its record this season to 9-0 overall and 6-0 in WCAL play.
The Crusaders’ triumph now sets up a massive date with Serra, which improved to 6-3 overall and 6-0 in the WCAL on Saturday with its own rout, beating Bellarmine 39-7 in San Mateo.
Riordan and Serra will face off at Brady Family Field in San Mateo at 7 p.m. on Friday. If Riordan wins, it will be the Crusaders’ first WCAL title since 2000.
