UNION CITY — A local resident has been charged with possessing more than 20,000 Adderall pills for sale, after a drug bust that started with a tip from a confidential informant, court records show.

The 29-year-old man was arrested and charged last month, and bailed out of jail after pleading not guilty on Christmas Eve. Police say he was working at a bagel shop in Fremont while also allegedly selling ecstasy, Adderall and cocaine.

During a December traffic stop, police allegedly arrested him with bags containing more than 20,000 Adderall pills, some ecstasy pills stamped with “Tesla,” and about a quarter-pound of crack cocaine. A gun that had been reported stolen out of Lodi was also recovered, authorities said.

The suspect’s girlfriend, who was with him during the arrest, denied knowledge of her boyfriend’s drug dealing, telling police she wouldn’t involve herself in something like that because she’s employed as a nursing assistant and has worked in a Bay Area state prison before, authorities said.

The investigation started with a tip from a confidential informant, police said. The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office charged the man with four drug-related felonies, one count of possessing a concealed weapon in a car and one count of possessing stolen property, court records show.
