Headlands Brewing to open new location in Walnut Creek on Friday

Headlands Brewing plans to open its 5,000-square foot beer garden on Friday, Jan. 24, in Walnut Creek.

Built around seven redwood trees, Headlands will provide an indoor-outdoor space that aims to capture the charm of a backyard barbecue, all while serving 20 beers on tap, wine, cocktails and a food menu put together by chef Jose Gonzales (previously The Cooperage, 4505 Meats, Jupiter).

This will be Headlands’ third location, following its original spot in Lafayette and second location in Berkeley.

The Walnut Creek space will provide a cozy outdoor atmosphere with canopies, heat lamps and fire pits, a childrens’ play area and, surely, plenty of dogs. The outdoor TVs and audio set-up should bode well for watching sporting events and enjoying live music.

Of the beers on tap, Headlands expect to feature its flagship beers such as its Point Bonita Pilsner, Hawk Hill Hefeweizen and Diablo Double IPA, a selection of rotating sours and a Golden Gate Parks West Coast IPA series alongside a selection of California wines and cocktails created by Jae Daaboul (East Bay Spice Company, Parche). The food menu will be centered around the smashburger.

Details: Opens this Friday, Jan. 24. Hours are Tuesday to Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m, and; Sunday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 2999 Oak Rd. in Walnut Creek; headlandsbrewing.com.
