Kurtenbach: Steph Curry earned the party he’s hosting at NBA All-Star weekend

The NBA is hosting its customary dazzling walk-up to the All-Star game with the 3-point, slam dunk and skills competition on All-Star eve. While we won’t see a re-match of last year’s 3-point showdown between Bay Area faves Steph Curry and Sabrina Ionescu, there will still be plenty of hometown heroes to cheer on. Here’s the lineup:

When: Saturday, Feb. 15, 5 p.m. PT (first event)
Where: Chase Center
TV: TNT, truTV
Streaming: TNT Overtime (NBA App, NBA.com), Max

First event: Skills Challenge

The Skills Challenge features four teams of two competing in areas such as shooting, ball-handling and passing. Root for Team Warriors with Draymond Green and Moses Moody.

Team Cavs
Donovan Mitchell (Cleveland Cavaliers)
Evan Mobley (Cleveland Cavaliers)

Team Rooks
Zaccharie Risacher (Atlanta Hawks)
Alex Sarr (Washington Wizards)

Team Spurs
Chris Paul (San Antonio Spurs)
Victor Wembanyama (San Antonio Spurs)

Team Warriors
Draymond Green (Golden State Warriors)
Moses Moody (Golden State Warriors)

Second event: 3-point Contest

A new shooter for the Warriors, Buddy Hield, will be representing the Dubs this year. He’ll be competing against Oakland-native Damian Lillard with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Lineup
Jalen Brunson (Knicks)
Cade Cunningham (Pistons)
Darius Garland (Cavaliers)
Tyler Herro (Heat)
Buddy Hield (Warriors)
Cam Johnson (Nets)
Damian Lillard (Bucks)
Norman Powell (Clippers)

Third event: Slam Dunk Contest

There are no Bay Area connections in the splashiest event of the night, but two-time defending champion G League star Mac McClung will be looking to defend his title against worthy competitors:

Competing:
Matas Buzelis (Bulls)
Stephon Castle (Spurs)
Andre Jackson Jr. (Bucks)
Mac McClung (G League, Osceola Magic)
