San Jose: Opa! departure leaves prime restaurant space open

San Jose: Opa! departure leaves prime restaurant space open

After anchoring a prime San Jose corner for more than a decade, the Opa! Authentic Greek restaurant group has quietly shuttered its location in Willow Glen.

The Opa! management team has not yet posted reasons for the closing or responded to inquiries.

The restaurant first opened on one end of the Lincoln Avenue restaurant row in 2008, then moved to the much larger location at the other end of the avenue in late 2014 when Lou’s Village left that Willow Street corner space after two years.

The closing leaves three Opa! restaurants in the South Bay serving Lamb Souvlaki, Greco Roman Flatbread, Gyro Hash and Eggs and more — in downtown Campbell, downtown Morgan Hill and at Santa Clara Square.

The number is down froma high of six or seven at various times; there also had been locations in Los Gatos, Walnut Creek, Los Altos and downtown San Jose.

Details: The Opa! restaurants are open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
