Because of a service disruption near Palo Alto, Caltrain reported late Tuesday morning that all trains were “experiencing major delays.”

As of 11:20 a.m., the delays were as long as 43 minutes and affected trains in both directions, the system’s service alert said.

By 11:40 the trains that had been held at stations were moving again.

Train 123, a northbound that was scheduled to arrive at the Palo Alto station at 10:55 a.m., was canceled. The following train, 125, will accommodate all passengers, the alert said.

The nature of the service disruption was not revealed. Last year, Caltrain stopped reporting when people were fatally struck on the tracks.

For updates, see the Service Alerts tab at Caltrain.com or the Caltrain app.
