The artwork of several students from Saratoga and Los Gatos high schools will be featured in a dreamy exhibit at New Museum Los Gatos, aka NUMU.
Student artists from across Santa Clara County were asked to interpret the theme “Dreamscapes” for their ArtNow submissions. ArtNow, the annual juried high school art exhibition and educational program presented by NUMU, will be on view at the museum April 4-July 20.
Among the 83 high school students whose artwork was chosen for the exhibit are Saratoga High School freshman Olivia Shi, sophomore Clara Choi, senior Amy Pan and juniors Joanne Zhang, Gonzalo Fernandez da Ponte and Celina Ren. Los Gatos High School is represented by juniors Seoyoung Choi, Estelle Paduano and Milla Petersen.
Students have the opportunity to win awards in eight artistic categories as well as an overall Best in Show and a People’s Choice award. The categories are painting, drawing, mixed media, printmaking, sculpture, photography, digital art and video/animation. Scholarships totaling more than $10,000 are set to be awarded May 3, 3-6 p.m.
