No. 2 St. Francis 4, No. 1 Serra 0
St. Francis left no doubt.
The Lancers, fueled by a stellar pitching performance from senior Landon Kim blanked Serra at home 4-0 to win the first of a two-game series between the two teams this week.
Kim struck out four and allowed just five hits across 6 ⅔ innings. St. Francis totaled just three hits, but got enough runners on base to seal the win.
St. Francis scored on a bases loaded walk and a fielder’s choice in the third inning to take a 2-0 lead. The Mountain View school then scored two more in the top of the seventh via two bases-loaded walks to secure the win.
Serra came into Tuesday’s game undefeated through 10 contests with wins over Los Gatos, St. Mary’s-Stockton, Capuchino and San Ramon Valley. The two teams have played each other evenly since 2004, as they both have 23 wins in 66 games.
No. 7 Valley Christian 3, Bellarmine 2
The Warriors used a three-run third inning to avoid losing their fourth straight game.
Valley Christian went down 2-0 in the second inning after Bellarmine senior Luke McNeil doubled on a line drive to right field that scored Dash Knight and Hudson Reid.
Though the Warriors didn’t have their best game, the San Jose school stayed patient. Valley Christian scored three straight runs on two walks with the bases loaded and a fielder’s choice that scored senior Hunter Fujimoto.
Valley Christian moved to 7-3 and 1-2 in West Catholic Athletic League play and is scheduled to complete its series against Bellarmine on the road on Friday. Bellarmine dropped to 6-5, 0-3.
No. 9 Acalanes 9, Miramonte 4
Acalanes put up six runs before the third inning to cruise to a five-run win over Miramonte.
Keegan Goddard had a three-run homer and Tyler Winkles was 2 for 4 with two RBI.
Berkeley 3, Alameda 0
Berkeley senior pitcher Sasha Spahr pitched a complete game shutout, striking out seven and allowing just two hits to lead Berkeley to a 3-0 victory to open West Alameda Foothill Division play.
Senior Arson Ormsby knocked in all three runs for the Yellow Jackets, which included a two-run double in the fifth inning.
Berkeley moved to 4-5, 1-0 while Alameda dropped to 5-4, 0-1.
SOFTBALL
Granada 1, No. 8 San Ramon Valley 0
The Matadors scored just one run, but it’s all they needed to beat SRV at home.
Junior Alicia Mitre’s double scored Delaney Aumua early in the first inning to put the Matadors on the board.
Granada sophomore Kamryn Brannon was excellent on the mound, striking out four and allowing just two hits in a complete game shutout.

Castro Valley 4, No. 11 Alameda 3
The Trojans did just enough to upset Alameda on the road.
With the game tied at two in the top of the seventh, Giselle De Casas hit an RBI double to right field that scored Alanys Robertson and Alicya Robertson.
Alameda cut the lead to just a run in the bottom of the seventh, but the Trojans held strong to seal the win.
No. 17 Livermore 3, No. 20 Amador Valley 0
Junior Kaci Norton gave just one hit and walked three batters in a complete game shutout to lead Livermore to key East Bay Athletic League win over Amador Valley.
Livermore Junior Laine Macosky knocked in two runs on an RBI double.
