Who is Fisher? Find out before his big San Jose concert this weekend

Fisher is coming to the Bay Area.

And that has a lot of people very excited. But that also has at least as many people scratching their heads and wondering, well, who is Fisher?

We’re hear to help clear that up in advance of the big Fisher outdoor block party show outside San Jose City Hall on March 29.

Here are some of the answers to some pertinent Fisher questions.

Q: Who is Fisher?

A: He’s an incredibly popular electronic music DJ/producer, who specializes in the house music subgenre.

Q: What is his real name?

A: Paul Fisher

Q: Where is he from?

A: He’s an Aussie, hailing from the beautiful Gold Coast in Queensland.

Q: How long has he been making music?

A: He started his music career in 2012, practicing his craft as part of the DJ duo Cut Snake before striking out solo.

A: Hmm. We’re going with the 2018 track “Losing It,” which was a top 50 tune on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs and also nabbed a best dance recording nod at the 2019 Grammys.

Q: How about giving us one more?

A: Let’s go with 2019’s “You Little Beauty,” which also did big business on the dance charts.

Q: Another other tunes we should know about?

A: Sure, just dial up his top tracks on any of the streaming services. One that is likely to be the mix is “Hold On (Fisher rework),” which is the DJ’s cool remix of a 2006 Bob Sinclar song.

Q: Anything interesting about Fisher beyond his music?

A: There is probably plenty of things. But one of the most notable is that Fisher was a pro surfer and competed in the World Surf League Qualifying Series before switching his focus to music.

A: Yes, it will take place on Santa Clara Street in front of City Hall.
