Eshoo honored
Assemblymember Marc Berman (D-Menlo Park) recently named former Congresswoman Anna Eshoo as this year’s Woman of the Year for his Assembly District 23. Berman’s ties to Eshoo go way back.
“I’m so grateful to Congresswoman Anna Eshoo not just for what she’s done for her constituents during 40 years in elected office, but what she’s done for me personally,” said Berman in a release. “My first political experience was interning in her district office as an 18-year-old after my freshman year in college, and again a year later on Capitol Hill. I had the privilege to see up close how hard Congresswoman Eshoo worked for her constituents, and how she was constantly guided by her utmost respect for the Congress, the nation and our fragile democracy.”

In a political career that spanned more than 40 years, Berman added, Eshoo “had 65 bipartisan bills signed into law by five different presidents and has been a fierce advocate for innovation, healthcare access and democracy.”
“She’s been a role model for generations of others who have followed her lead, myself included.”
