Granada 3, No. 14 Livermore 2
First baseman Delaney Aumua clubbed solo home runs in the third and seventh innings to lead the Matadors over Livermore.
Aumua’s second homer turned out to be the game-winner, snapping a 2-2 tie. Her first homer gave Granada a 2-0 lead in the game played at Livermore. Both homers went to center field.
The Cowboys tied the game in the fourth on a two-run single by Laine Macasky.
Ella VonBergen went the distance for Granada, but it wasn’t easy. She allowed seven hits and also walked seven.
Livermore suffered its first East Bay Athletic League loss, falling to 3-1 and 7-3 overall. The Cowboys are in a four-way first-place tie with California, Foothill and Carondelet. Granada is a half-game back at 3-2, and 5-4 overall.
No. 16 Foothill 2, Amador Valley 1
Freshman Myra Galzie pitched a complete-game four-hitter to lead the Falcons. She struggled with her control, walking five while striking out two, but the only run she allowed came in the third, allowing Amador Valley to tie the score at 1-1 on a double by Lauran Tran.
Emily Hughes broke the tie in the top of the fourth with a single. Sophia Burdick’s third-inning single plated the first run for Foothill.
The Falcons improved to 8-3-1 and 3-1 in the EBAL, joining the traffic jam atop the league standings. Amador Valley is 5-4 overall and 2-2 in league.
No. 11 Castro Valley 10, Northgate 1
The Trojans rolled to their sixth win in a row behind Alanys Robertson and Giselle De Casas.
Robertson fired a complete-game one-hitter. She walked five but struck out 10. She was also 2-for-4 at the plate.
De Casas, a junior shortstop, had three hits, all for extra bases. She doubled twice and tripled, scoring two runs and driving in three.
Castro Valley improved to 8-2 with the non-league win while Northgate is 4-3.
No. 18 Valley Christian 25 Sacred Heart Cathedral 0
In a game called after 4½ innings, there were three performances worth mentioning.
Valley Christian freshman Shyla Paredes drove in eight runs and reached base five times. She had two homers and a double, and scored four runs in addition to her eight RBI. Makenzie Leon was 4-for-4 with a homer, a pair of doubles and four RBI.
Valley Christian is 10-3 overall and 1-0 in the WCAL. SHC is 6-5, 0-1.
St. Joseph Notre Dame 12, California School for the Deaf 2
The Pilots handed CSD its first loss of the season after 11 straight wins, scoring three runs in the first inning and four runs in the third to build a 7-1 lead. The game was called after 4½ innings.
Cassandra Sanchez was 2-for-2 at the plate for the Pilots. She scored three runs and drove in three. She also pitched, striking out 10 while allowing four hits and one walk.
SJND is 8-4 and 2-0 in the Bay Counties-East. CSD is 11-1, 3-1.
Baseball
No. 8 Los Gatos 5, Mountain View 5
Both teams scored a run in the fourth inning, and they each had four-run outbursts in the sixth. There was no more scoring after that, and the SCVAL De Anza contest was finally called after 11 innings.
Both teams are 9-3-1 overall and have identical 2-0-1 league records.
With the score tied 1-1 in the sixth, Mountain View’s Zander Yocum hit a grand slam to center that gave the visitors a 5-1 lead. But Los Gatos battled back with its own four-run rally in the bottom of the inning. Rowen Smith had a double. For the afternoon he had three RBI.
Los Gatos outhit the Spartans 9-8. The Wildcats also had five stolen bases.
The teams will meet again on Friday at Mountain View.
No. 4 Granada 6, Amador Valley 0
Peyton Richards homered and Jack Badger went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI as the Matadors improved to 4-0 in the EBAL and 9-2 overall.
Granada scored twice in the second and added single runs in every inning from the third to the sixth.
Starting pitcher Tyler Kennedy worked four innings, allowing two hits and striking out four.
Kade Robertson had two hits for Amador Valley (7-4, 2-2). The Dons turned three double plays.

Graham Schlicht fired a one-hitter and struck out 11 as the Spartans improved to 7-2 overall and 3-1 in the EBAL.
Two-sport star Alec Blair (baseball, basketball) homered and doubled. He scored two runs and drove in two. Antonio Castro had three RBI for De La Salle.
Struggling Monte Vista fell to 2-10 this season.
No. 14 Foothill 4, California 3
The Falcons scored three times in the fourth to take a 4-2 lead against the Grizzlies, then had to hang on after California made it a one-run game in the sixth.
Tanner Tarpley homered for Foothill and Ryan Westcott plated two more with a single.
Johnny Edwards had two RBI for California.
The Grizzlies (4-5, 1-4) had opportunities. In addition to five hits, they had three walks and Foothill committed three errors. But the Falcons turned three double plays.
Foothill is 10-3 overall and 3-2 in league play. California is 4-5, 1-4.
No. 11 Heritage 24, Mission 3
Jace Bernard scored four runs and drove in six more as Heritage blasted Mission at the SSF Easter Tournament.
The Patriots (7-1) led 9-0 before Mission rallied for three runs in the third. Heritage answered with five runs in the bottom of the inning. The game was called after six.
Jeff Guevara had a big day for Heritage with three hits, three runs and two RBI. One of his three hits was a triple.
Heritage will take on Capuchino today in another tournament game.
Terra Nova 5, Woodside 2
Woodside scored two runs in the top of the first, but it was all Terra Nova after. The Tigers scored a run in the home half of the first, then went ahead with a three-run rally in the fourth.
Joey Donati was the hitting star for Terra Nova, which remained unbeaten (3-0) in the PAL Ocean. He had two RBI, including a sacrifice fly in the fourth. Luke Ornelas had an RBI single in the inning.
Aiden James was the winning pitcher. He gave up seven hits but allowed only two runs in five innings.
Terra Nova is 9-2-1 overall. Woodside is 6-5 and 2-1 in the PAL Ocean.
Head Royce 5, Redwood Christian 1
The visitors led 5-0 and cruised to their sixth victory in eight games this season. Head Royce is 3-0 in the Bay Counties East.
Sophomore Graham Sanger was 2-for-2 with a double and a run scored. Ezra Goldfarb tripled and scored two runs, and he also pitched three shutout innings. He didn’t allow a hit and struck out six.
Redwood Christian is 1-3 in league and 4-4 overall.
