Welcome to the Bay Area News Group (Mercury News & East Bay Times) girls Athlete of the Week poll.
For the entire academic year, we will provide a list of candidates who stood out over the previous week and allow you, the reader, to vote for the winner.
This week, we consider performances from March 31-April 5.
Polls close at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Vote as many times as you’d like until then without using bots or any other artificial methods of voting.
Votes by email and after 5 p.m. Wednesday are not counted.

Winners are announced each Friday online and in the print edition of the Mercury News and East Bay Times sports sections.

We accept nominations until 11 a.m. each Monday.
We also review stats submitted to MaxPreps by coaches/team statisticians.
On to the nominees:
Delaney Aumua, Granada softball: The Auburn commit hit two home runs to power Granada over No. 14 Livermore 3-2 in an upset win. She drove in all three runs in the Matadors’ victory.
Myra Galzie, Foothill softball: Galzie, a freshman, fired a complete game in the circle to lead No. 16 Foothill to a 2-1 win over Amador Valley. She struck out two AV batters and navigated five walks to get the win. She also had two hits at the plate against California.
Ella Geernaert, Monte Vista lacrosse: Geernaert, a senior goalie, recorded a 76.9% save rate against Amador Valley, which led the Mustangs to an 8-6 victory. Geernaert collected 20 saves in Monte Vista’s win.
Izabella Holt, Clayton Valley softball: Holt had a big game against Vacaville, going 4 for 6 with six RBIs, a triple and a home run. She added a two-run triple in a win over Benicia and scored a run after hitting a double against American Canyon.
Madison Kohli, Los Gatos track and field: Kohli topped the 400-meter race at the Stanford Invitational, recording a time of 55.92 seconds to break her own Los Gatos school record. Kohli, a sophomore, set the previous Los Gatos record as a freshman at the CCS championships last season.
Shyla Paredes, Valley Christian softball: Paredes, a freshman, drove in eight runs and got on base five times in Valley’s dominant win over Sacred Heart Cathedral. She hit two home runs, a double and scored four times.

Alanys Robertson, Castro Valley softball: Robertson pitched a complete game one-hitter as No. 11 Castro Valley took down Northgate 10-1. At the plate, she added a hit and scored three runs. She also had two hits against Liberty.
Cassandra Sanchez, St. Joseph-Notre Dame softball: Sanchez did it all for SJND, driving in three runs at the plate, scoring three runs herself and pitching a complete game with 10 strikeouts in a 12-2 win over California School for the Deaf. She added two runs and an RBI single in a win over Redwood Christian.
Aaliyah Soderlund, Alameda softball: Soderlund had an excellent all-around game for Alameda, compiling three hits, three runs batted in and a triple as the Hornets beat Encinal 8-4.
Shaunise Tuua, Sobrato track and field: Tuua won four events at the Quicksilver Invitational, topping the 4×100-meter relay, 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash and long jump. Her current ranks and times rank among the top 10 in the Central Coast Section.
Arden Walsh, Sacred Heart Cathedral softball: Walsh drove in two runs for SHC as the Irish upset No. 3 St. Ignatius at home last Friday in San Francisco.
