Kristen Stewart married her longtime fiancée Dylan Meyer Sunday in the low-key way she outlined to Howard Stern three years earlier.
“I want to stay home. I want to be in L.A. so everyone can come,” Stewart, 35, told the shock jock on his Sirius XM show in November 2021, according to E! News. “I want it to be pretty chill. I don’t want anyone walking anyone down any aisles. We’re just going to, like, stand and do vows and (expletive) party after.”
“It’s kind of just a great excuse to get together and say ‘I love you’ in front of all your friends,” the “Twilight” actor also said.
Photos obtained by TMZ show Stewart slipping a ring on Meyer’s finger in a ceremony in their Los Angeles garden, with guests looking on. So it appears that Stewart got her way of enjoying a small, “chill” ceremony, though it wasn’t private, with paparazzi managing to snap photos.

TMZ also reported that Stewart and her screenwriter partner, 37, obtained a marriage license at a local courthouse earlier in the week. The outlet furthermore said that guests included actor/singer Ashley Benson and her husband.
The wedding formalizes a relationship that began in 2019, after Stewart broke up with former partner Stella Maxwell. Stewart and Meyer first met on a movie set in 2013 but romantic feelings didn’t spark at the time.
Stewart was possibly in emotional recovery mode, following her scandalous affair in 2012 with Rupert Sanders, her director for the film, “Snow White and the Huntsman.”
The affair led to the end of Stewart’s romance with “Twilight” co-star Robert Pattinson. Even after she issued a heartfelt apology over the affair, the media scrutiny was difficult and came at “a really traumatic,” self-destructive period in her life, she told Marie Claire.
Stewart came out as bisexual in 2017 in an interview with The Guardian and began dating Meyer two years later. She told Harper’s Bazaar in 2019 that she was discouraged from being openly affectionate with her girlfriend if she wanted to land roles in mainstream movies. “If you just, like, do yourself a favor, and don’t go out holding your girlfriend’s hand in public, you might get a Marvel movie,” she said she was told.
But Stewart also asserted: “I don’t want to work with people like that.”
Her romance with Meyer began after they got reacquainted at a friend’s wedding. As Stewart told Stern, “I was like, ‘Where have you been and how have I not known you?’”
Stewart also revealed to Stern that she wanted Meyer to propose to her.
“I kind of asked her. I wanted to be proposed to, so I think I very distinctly carved out my, what I wanted,” Stewart said. “And you know, she nailed it. It was really cute. She did very well. And we’re marrying. It’s happening.”
