BERKELEY — Evacuations are underway this afternoon in Berkeley following the discovery of a suspicious device in the 1300 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way, police said.

In an advisory, the Berkeley Police Department asked people to avoid the area, as well as Berryman Street at Josephine Street to Vine Street and Bonita Avenue at Vine Street to Berryman Street.
Josephine Street and Bonita Avenue are fully blocked off in the area, according to police.
