Vehicle tampering, grand theft: Between March 15 and 16, someone tampered with a vehicle parked in the 18000 block of McFarland Avenue and stole a catalytic converter for a total loss valued at approximately $3,000.

Theft by false pretenses: A Saratoga resident reported that someone called them acting as a representative of their internet service provider and ultimately convinced the victim to provide credit card information for an unknown total loss.

Vehicle theft: Between 2:55 a.m. and 5:45 a.m., someone stole a vehicle parked in the 12000 block of Cambridge Drive for a total loss valued at approximately $80,000.

Petty theft: At 12:18 p.m., someone stole a mail package from the driveway of a residence in the 21000 block of Chadwick Court for a total loss valued at approximately $100.

Identity theft: A Saratoga resident reported that someone used their personal information to access their financial accounts and port the victim’s phone number. No financial loss was reported.

Falsified license plate, possession of stolen property: At 7:15 p.m., deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle call at Parker Ranch Road and Vista Arroyo Court. Deputies located the vehicle, but it sped off. The vehicle was located again a short time later, and the driver was contacted. An investigation revealed the suspect used a stolen license plate to avoid detection of the vehicle’s expired registration. The suspect was arrested and booked into main jail.
