NBA fines Draymond Green for gambling comments after Warriors’ loss

MINNEAPOLIS – Warriors forward Draymond Green will have to pay a hefty fine for gambling-related comments made during Game 3 of the team’s second-round series with the Timberwolves.

The NBA announced it is fining Green $50,000 after he was seen telling teammates during a television broadcast that the point spread during the Wolves’ 102-97 victory was 5.5.

Green, 35, fouled out of that game in the fourth quarter, and has a league-high five technical fouls and two flagrant fouls during the postseason.

In a press release sent out by the league, the NBA said Green’s comment “questions the integrity of the game officials.”

According to the website Spotrac, Green has been fined 229 times for a total of $992,000 since entering the league in 2012.
