How to watch the Valkyries’ season opener against the Sparks

The Golden State Valkyries are set to play their very first WNBA regular season game against the Los Angeles Sparks Friday at the Chase Center in San Francisco. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. Pacific Time.

They split their two preseason games against the Sparks and the Phoenix Mercury, but now they finally get to play a game that matters.

The Valkyries finalized their roster on Thursday, and it has a distinctly international flavor, though American forward Kayla Thornton is expected to be a lead scoring presence.

Expect a raucous crowd at Chase Center as the Valkyries have set records with their season ticket deposits, showing the support for professional women’s hoops in the Bay Area.
