‘Dreamscape’ winners
Two students in the Campbell Union High School District were among the winners in ArtNow 2025, the annual juried art show for high school artists produced by New Museum Los Gatos, aka NUMU.

Branham High School senior Eulina Ji won first place in the painting category for her acrylic work “Shadow Puppets.” Westmont High School senior Alexis Kim took second place in the same category for her acrylic painting “Life in the Dreamhouse.”
In total, NUMU awarded over $10,000 in cash prizes, scholarships, and University Art gift certificates at a May 3 ceremony.
The ArtNow exhibit features works by 83 students from across Santa Clara County, all on the theme of “Dreamscapes.” It’s on view at the museum, located at 106 E. Main St. in Los Gatos, through July 20.
Job prospects
Students in the Campbell Union High School District signed letters of intent on May 6 not for sports teams but for apprenticeships, job offers or advanced technical training in Construction Technology and Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC). Silicon Valley Career Technical Education (SVCTE) hosted the event at the Lowe’s store on Cottle Road in San Jose during the 2025 SkillsUSA National Signing Day.
Branham High School student Ryan Alston, who is enrolled in SVCTE’s Construction Technology program, signed on as a carpenter’s apprentice with Local 405 NorCal. Four Leigh High School students in the HVAC program indicated their intent to continue in that profession—Sage Berti with Wolfe Inc., Colton Helgoe with Sheet Metals Workers Local 104, Zackary Parker as an HVAC apprentice and John Torres in HVAC services.
Each student received a Dewalt kit with essential gear from Dewalt/Stanley Black and Decker, a $50 gift card courtesy of the Lowe’s Foundation and a bucket donation from the local Lowe’s store.
