The 2025 Range Rover Sport Autobiography PHEV SUV

May 25, 2025
The 2025 Range Rover Sport Autobiography PHEV SUV

What is a Range Rover Sport? The Range Rover Sport is a midsize SUV built in the Solihull, UK assembly plant and sold worldwide by Land Rover. The Land Rover Range Rover, generally shortened to Range Rover, is a 4×4 luxury SUV produced by Land Rover, a marque and sub-brand of Jaguar Land Rover. The Sport model offers a blend of luxury, performance and off road capability. It features a redesigned exterior, a luxurious interior, a powerful engine and includes plug in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) models.

The 2025 Range Rover Sport boasts a more modern and muscular design with a sleek silhouette and a distinctive front fascia. The interior features premium materials, a high end cabin design and a range of advanced technology features. It has a plug-in hybrid power train with a focus on efficiency and an all electric driving range of 53 miles on a full battery charge. The fuel economy is 53 MPGe and 21 MPG in combined driving.

Range Rover is known for its strong performance and its ability to handle various terrains, thanks to its advanced terrain response system. The terrain response system in the 2025 Range Rover Sport is an advanced technology that optimizes the vehicle’s performance on various surfaces, including gravel, grass, snow, mud, or in ruts, sand and rocks. It does this by adjusting the vehicle’s engine speed, gearbox ratio’s, differentials, and chassis settings to match the specific terrain. This allows the driver to navigate all road surface conditions with a greater confidence and positive control.

This week, Land Rover sent me a 2025 Range Rover Sport to test drive and review. The base window sticker price for this Autobiography PHEV model is $118,700. The options on the test SUV are: the Meridian Signature sound system for $4,500, the special paint for $1,750, the 23″ styled diamond turned gloss dark grey alloy wheels for $1,100, the cold climate pack for $450, the basic rear seat convenience pack for $265, the wheel protection pack for $225, the emergency pack for $75, the red brake calipers for $185, and the Ranger Rover Handover pack for $65. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP), including the $1,625 destination charge, is: $129,680.

After adding in the state and local sales tax, plus the DMV and dealer fees, the out the door and in your garage total purchase price came to: $145,890. At just $110 bucks under $146 Grand, this Sport Autobiography PHEV model has all the options most buyers want, with none of the frilly stuff, just the really good stuff.

Performance comes from the 3.0 liter inline 6 cylinder gas engine with 542 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque, bolted to a 8 speed automatic transmission, then routed into an all wheel drive system with a twin speed transfer case. The terrain response traction control has selectable driving for on and off road modes, with low traction launch control and hill decent control. The suspension has dynamic air ride with dynamic response pro with automatic access height control and adaptive dynamics, assisted by an electronic active differential, with torque vectoring by automatic wheel braking and all wheel steering. This SUV can go practically anywhere on Earth.

Comfort and luxury are the landmarks of Range Rover. They start with the semi-aniline full leather seats, carpeted floor mats, a suede cloth headliner, 4 zone climate control with air purification and air quality sensing, a power sliding panoramic sunroof with a powered sliding sunshade, power, heated, ventilated and massaging front seats with memory, power, reclining, heated and ventilated rear seats, a heated steering wheel with power tilt & tel, head up display, a Meridian Signature sound system with 29 speakers with 1700 watts of power, including a dual channel subwoofer. It’s a high fidelity British premium audio system that creates a concert like experience for all occupants.

In essence, the 2025 Range Rover Sport is a well rounded luxury SUV that combines luxury, performance, and off-road capability, making it a compelling choice for those seeking a high end SUV experience. Plus, this Sport model is a PHEV that can drive all day long in electric only mode for 53 miles on a full charge.

So, call, click or visit your local Range Rover dealer for a test drive, and a Bottom Line price review, on the 2025 Range Rover Sport Autobiography Plug in Hybrid Electric Vehicle SUV. And remember that the base price for a new Range Rover Sport starts at only $83,700. Land Rover – Range Rover – Always Above and Beyond.
