Two-alarm fire in San Jose injures two

SAN JOSE — Two people were injured in a two-alarm fire Friday afternoon in San Jose, according to fire officials.

San Jose: Firefighters respond to blaze at three-story apartment

The blaze broke out just before 5:15 p.m. at a single-story residence in the 2600 block of Ophelia Avenue, the San Jose Fire Department said in a social media post.

According to fire officials, one occupant was rescued from the burning home while another managed to escape on their own. Both were taken to an area hospital.

The fire was knocked down by 5:32 p.m. and declared under control by 6:05 p.m., the fire department said.

Ophelia Avenue was closed between Rigoletto Drive and Enesco Avenue during the incident.
