Roundup: Snakebyte’s Nintendo Switch 2 accessories or hit and miss

Now that fans have the Nintendo Switch 2 in their fans, they’re looking for ways to keep it looking new, and an onslaught of accessories have flooded the market, catering to every taste imaginable. Snakebyte sent over its collection of accoutrements for the latest portable console.

They include products such as the Fast Charging Cable S2, which promises 100 W performance along with nice build-quality touches, and the Power Charge S2, a travel charger with several adapters. These are common products that aren’t exactly tailored for the Switch 2 despite what it says on the packaging. Players can buy comparable products and be satisfied.

The more notable snakebyte products are the Starter Kit S2, the System Organizer Case S2 and the Twin Charge S2. These items actually are designed for the Switch 2 and have some function. Here’s a look at them:

Snakebyte’s Nintendo Switch 2 Starter Kit S2 includes a case, tempered glass screen protector, headphones and more. (snakebyte)
Starter Kit S2: These set comes with a slew of accessories for the Nintendo Switch 2 but only a few are helpful. The case and the tempered screen glass protector do a great job of protecting the system. The nylon case feels heavy duty with a flap to protect the screen and EVA foam internals that will protect the system from water damage. It has a net pocket for wires and extra Joy Con 2s while the console is secured with rubbers straps.

It comes with everything one would need to apply the screen projector including wet and dry wipes, but the process will still take time, especially if users want to avoid air bubbles. Once it’s on though, material is crystal clear and sturdy.

The rest of the items are a mixed bag with the headset and lint cloth solid, but the silicon grips that are supposed to protect the Joy-Con 2 controllers feel cheap. Worse yet, they don’t fit the Switch 2 grip that comes with the console. The analog stick caps are also poor quality and not worth including.
The snakebyte Nintendo Switch 2 travel case S2 features a rubberized handle and a sturdy interior. (snakebyte)
Travel Case S2: If players already have a screen protector and if they’re looking for a solid case, this is a worthy candidate. It’s nearly the same one as the Starter Kit except this version has different material and design on the outside of the case. Two elements I like about the snakebyte’s travel cases are the rubberized handle and the flap, which has space to hold 10 game cards.

The snakebyte Twin Charge S2 is able to power up two Joy Con 2 controllers. (snakebyte)
Twin Charge S2: This device will charge your Joy-Con 2 controllers if they’re not connected to the system. It’s a barebones devices that doesn’t come with an AC adapter but it does feature a USB-A to USBC cord. It does the job if you have a separate set of Joy-Con 2 devices for those times when you have company over or a Player 2 is waiting in the wings.

The snakebyte System Organizer Case S2 has a case for the systtem and a larger bag, but it has one notable issue. (snakebyte)
System Organiser Case S2: This set is divided into two parts. The first is a barebones console case that is thinner than the Travel Case S2 and Starter Kit, but it is also less secure. It doesn’t have the straps to keep the device in place. The one feature this slimmer design has going for it is the soft material on the inside.

The second part is the organizer itself, which includes a net pocket and removable dividers. It’s almost as if snakebyte repackaged a camera case for the Switch 2. The notable part about the set is that users are supposed to place the console case on top of the organizer and fasten the two together with a strap that arcs across the top. It leaves the console case exposed so that it could fall out if jostled hard enough.

The setup doesn’t feel secure even if users tighten the fastenings and use the included shoulder strap. It’s preferable to rearrange the dividers and stash the console inside the case, or perhaps looks somewhere else for a better organizer.
