Evacuation warning issued as wildfire rages in Antioch

ANTIOCH – Authorities on Wednesday night issued an evacuation warning as crews continued to battle a 200-acre wildfire in Antioch.

Fire disrupts traffic, burns building in Los Altos Hills

The Somersville Fire ignited around 7 p.m. off Somersville Road, according to Cal Fire and the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District. By 8:30 p.m., the blaze had swelled to 209 acres and was 0% contained.

One person suffered minor injuries in the fire, the fire district said.

Around 8:50 p.m., the fire district announced an evacuation warning for zone ANT-E007, which encompasses the area north of Grimsby Drive, south of Hamlin Drive, east of Lafayette Drive, and west of Tabora Drive, Silver Creek Circle and James Donlon Boulevard.

Canal Park, located at 3200 Gentrytown Drive in Antioch, is serving as an evacuation point.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
