Music in the Park is a free public summer concert series held on Sunday afternoons from 5-7 p.m. on the Los Gatos Civic Center Lawn. The concert series provides a mix of musical genres for families and people of all ages to enjoy.

On July 20, singer Taylor Rae will be performing the kickoff show of this year’s series. She hails from the Santa Cruz Mountains, and her second release, “The Void,” came out this year. Her music is a blend of roadhouse roots-rock, modern-day folk, alternative music, blues and analog Americana, according to her website.

Backpack drive

The West Valley Muslim Association is holding a backpack drive for children in Santa Clara County’s welfare system.

This is the 17th year the association has hosted the Back to School Project to support children and provide them needed school supplies.

The backpacks will be given to orphans and foster children. The organization also provides supplies to children of women who have been victims of domestic violence and to refugees. WVMA regularly supports several organizations, including Alameda County Social Services, Court Appointed Special Advocates, Legal Advocates for Children and Youth and Rahima Foundation.

WVMA will be taking on additional expenses for transporting supplies, like renting trucks. For more information or to donate, visit https://www.roonga.com/wvmabacktoschool2025.
