The fatal shooting happened on June 30 about 7:15 a.m. in the 3800 block of Osprey Lane. Police said they responded to a call about a person threatening to “kill everyone in the home,” with a knife, police said.

The Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office said that person was 26-year-old David Bahrami, of Antioch.

Police have not identified the officer who shot him, nor have they released any video from a body camera the officer may have been wearing. Per protocol, that officer went on paid administrative leave after the shooting, pending investigations by the sheriff’s office and Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

Police said that after they arrived, Bahrami charged them with a knife and that one officer fired his gun. Police have not said how many times that officer fired.
