Lehigh meeting
Santa Clara County Supervisor Margaret Abe-Koga invites Cupertino residents to a community meeting to discuss the current status of the Lehigh/Heidelberg Cement Plant and Permanente Quarry. The meeting will provide updates and information and offer residents an opportunity to ask questions and voice their concerns.
The meeting is set for Thursday, July 31, 6:30-8:30 p.m., at the Quinlan Community Center.
Industrious volunteers sought
The City of Cupertino is still accepting applications for vacancies on its Economic Development Committee. The vacancies are for candidates with experience or interest in the following industry sectors: retail, hospitality, education and commercial real estate. Industry sector representatives must work for an organization located within Cupertino or be residents of the city, or both.
Applications are open until the vacancies are filled. City Council will conduct interviews beginning in September.

Music in the Courtyard
Bowen Zheng, a Shanghai-born classical guitarist, will perform Sunday, July 20, 3-4 p.m., as part of the Summer Music in the Courtyard series sponsored by the Cupertino Library Foundation.
Bowen has performed across the U.S. and has also collaborated with the South Bay Guitar Society in San Jose to bring classical guitar to Bay Area communities. He currently serves as the society’s event director and as a voting member on its board of directors.
