San Jose: Police release car image, seek tips in March homicide

SAN JOSE — Police have released the image of a vehicle they say is linked to a fatal gang-motivated shooting near the Seven Trees Community Center in March, and are seeking public tips to help investigators find a suspect.

San Jose police have released a surveillance image of a car, believed to be a newer-model white Honda Accord Sport with tinted windows, linked to a fatal March 9, 2025 shooting near Solari Park in the city’s Seven Trees neighborhood. Investigators are seeking public tips to help identify a suspect. (San Jose Police Dept.)

The shooting was reported the night of March 9 on Cas Drive at Solari Park, near the community center and neighboring public library. Police said responding officers arrived to find signs that a shooting occurred, but no one still at the scene.

Soon after, police were alerted by Regional Medical Center in San Jose that a man suffering from gunshot wounds had arrived at the hospital and died from his injuries. He was later identified as Tumarion Burch, a 20-year-old Stockton resident.

Tuesday, San Jose police homicide investigators revealed their finding that the shooting was gang-motivated and that the park near where the shooting occurred was the site of “increased activity” by a local street gang.
