Forgery: A finance officer for Prospect High School on Prospect Road reported that someone obtained electronic checks for one of the school’s financial accounts, then electronically altered and passed the checks for payments to various persons and entities, for a total loss of about $30,906. The account was frozen, and the bank is working to reimburse the school.

Shoplifting: At 11:24 p.m., deputies responded to a theft call at Safeway in the Argonaut Center on Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road. An investigation revealed the suspect stole merchandise valued at approximately $358. The suspect was cited and released.
