“South Park” has picked some pretty famous people to savagely satirize over the years, from Tom Cruise to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, but the long-running animated sitcom has probably taken on its biggest target yet by suggesting in its 27th season premiere that President Donald Trump has a small penis.
In the episode that aired Wednesday night, the show mocks Trump in various ways, including by going after his questionable use of litigation to punish perceived enemies, including media companies like Paramount and CBS, according to Variety. It also features a faux public service ad on behalf of Trump, which shows an AI-generated version of the president trudging through a desert and stripping naked to reveal a “teeny-tiny” penis, as a narrator says. The episode, titled “Sermon on the Mount,” also addresses Trump’s Jeffrey Epstein scandal, depicts him in bed with Satan and shows a Trump character arguing with the Canadian prime minister.
In response to the episode, White House Assistant Press Secretary Taylor Rogers issued a statement, blasting the “hypocrisy” of the the left and claiming that “South Park” is a “fourth-rate” show that lacks cultural relevance.
“Just like the creators of South Park, the left has no authentic or original content, which is why their popularity continues to hit record lows,” Rogers said. “This show hasn’t been relevant for over 20 years and is hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention. President Trump has delivered on more promises in just six months than any other president in our country’s history — and no fourth-rate show can derail President Trump’s hot streak.”
People can argue about the popularity of the Comedy Central show, as broadcast and cable television are struggling in the streaming era. The show itself was on hiatus for more than two years. But the clip from its new episode, showing the naked-Trump PSA, has gone viral on social media. Newsweek also said that the episode aired one day after creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone reached a $1.5 billion streaming deal with Paramount after a monthlong bidding war.
This deal didn’t prompt Parker and Stone to hold back about Trump even though Paramount is the parent company of Comedy Central and of CBS, which as faced widespread criticism over its recent decision to cancel “The Late Show With Steven Colbert.” Colbert is a known Trump critic, while Paramount is in the midst of an $8 billion merger with Skydance Media that requires approval from the Trump administration’s Federal Communications Commission.
Meanwhile, Parker and Stone decided to air an episode that makes the size of Trump’s penis a recurring talking point. At one point, the Trump character insinuates that he wants to have sex with Satan, but the devil turns him down because of his “small” penis.
The episode centers on Trump suing the fictional mountain town of South Park for $5 billion because it questions the presence of Jesus Christ at its school, Variety reported. In a settlement, the town has to agree to produce “pro-Trump” messaging. Hence, the PSA. The ad opens on a live-action desert scene, with the AI Trump crossing the desert, wearing his signature suit and red tie.
“When things heat up, who will deliver us from temptation? Donald J. Trump,” the narrator says as the Trump figure struggles to find his way. “No matter how hot it gets, he’s not afraid to fight for America,” the narrator continues as the Trump figure removes his tie, and then begins to undress, removing everything except his loafers and socks. He then collapses, with the camera focusing on a small penis with googly eyes says, “I’m Donald J. Trump, and I endorse this message.”
“Trump. His penis is teeny-tiny, but his love for us is large,” the narrator concludes, while the PSA links to the website HeTrumpedUs.com, which confirms “This parody contains synthetic media.”
