Jennifer Lopez seems to be feeling herself these days, upon turning 56 and in the aftermath of her high-profile divorce from Ben Affleck — enough that she continued her recent trend of sex-forward displays in her “Up All Night” world tour by letting the world know that she doesn’t wear underwear.
This revelation came amid a wardrobe malfunction during Lopez’s show in Warsaw, Poland, Friday night, as People reported. The mega-star entertainer came on stage during a moment when her band and back-up singers and dancers got the crowd to sing “Happy Birthday” to her.
Lopez was wearing a glittery, gold skirt that a dancer had apparently just tied on, but it fell to the stage floor, revealing that she was wearing glittery, gold underpants, according to a video posted to her official YouTube channel.
Lopez didn’t let the potentially embarrassing wardrobe mishap phase her and even found a way to use it for this show-stopping, “surprise moment,” as she billed it on YouTube. She flashed a big smile and strutted around the stage in her self-described “underwear,” waving her arms and pulling off a little spin.
After a dancer approached her to reattach the skirt, Lopez waved him off.
“I’m out here in my underwear,” Lopez jokingly proclaimed.
“I’m glad I had underwear on. I don’t usually wear underwear,” Lopez revealed.
Of course, the “underwear” also could be seen as bikini bottoms, or short shorts, that are part of the costume and not designed to be that revealing. But Lopez, who played a pole dancer in the acclaimed 2019 film “Hustlers,” seemed to revel in the idea that she was being risqué, as she tossed the skirt into the crowd and told fans to “keep it.”
Lopez has been garnering plenty of publicity for her show, and for the suggestive things she says about her sex life and for the “X-rated” dance moves she does with some of her male dancers, as the Daily Mail reported. She incited the ire of pro-Trump SiriusXM host Megyn Kelly, who took to X last week to angrily share a clip from one of Lopez’s recent performances. The clip showed Lopez straddling one of her dancer’s shoulders with her crotch in his face.
“So she’s a soft porn star now,” Kelly wrote alongside the video. Kelly added: “Great choices!”
Lopez also has won headlines by appearing to share intimate details about her split from Affleck in her new music, according to the Daily Mail. Two new tracks in particular seem to take a “brutal swipe” at Affleck, from whom she split in August 2024. Their divorce, after barely two years of marriage, was finalized earlier this year.

In the song, “Up All Night,” Lopez sings about how she is now “living her best life” after getting tired of a man “breaking her down.” She also sings: “I bet you wish that you were by my side … Look at me now.”
And, in the song, “Wreckage of You,” she laments splitting from an unidentified “broken partner,” but says it’s an act that has only made her stronger.
“Thank you for the scars you left on my heart,” she sings. “For showing me that stars shine brighter in the dark / I won’t fall apart because of who you are / And all your broken parts. Because of you, I am stronger, wiser / Better than I’ve ever been.”
Affleck has not publicly commented on Lopez’s new music and what it might say about him, but an “insider” told the Daily Mail that he realizes there is little he can do about her “childish” displays. “It is something he can’t control, so he isn’t going to let it hurt him and he’s definitely not going to give it life by reacting,” the insider said.
At the same time, Affleck has known Lopez long enough to expect that she would mine their relationship for material in her music. The insider said, “He knows that this is something she has to do for herself and for her artistry.”
Lopez and Affleck first dated in the early 2000s and became the focus of breathless, tabloid coverage about their engagement. They blamed the constant media attention for contributing to the end of their romance in 2004. They reconnected in 2021, following the end of her engagement to Alex Rodriguez and his marriage to Jennifer Garner.
Once again, their romance became a source of global fascination, and Lopez seemed eager to play up their super couple pairing. But it was all over by the spring of 2024, according to reports.
To observers, Lopez’s own documentary that year, “The Greatest Love Story Never Told,” about her serial failed relationships and about her supposed ever-lasting love with Affleck, revealed some of the issues that doomed their romance. At one point, Affleck opened up to the camera about having a hard time dealing with Lopez’s constant need to be in the public eye and to share her private life on social media.
