The crime happened at about 1 p.m. Wednesday at an apartment complex on Ignacio Boulevard, according to the Novato Police Department. Witnesses intervened, stopped the attack and called police. The boy suffered minor injuries.
Kadija Sultan, 29, of Brentwood was booked into the Marin County Jail on suspicion of robbery and cruelty to a child. The jail listed her occupation as “peer counseling.”
Sultan remained in custody Thursday in lieu of $75,000 bail.
