Search for missing Fremont teen continues

FREMONT – The search is continuing for a 16-year-old Fremont girl reported missing last week, police said.

Katie Hong, 16, of Fremont, was last seen walking from her home on Queens Park Court toward Irvington Community Park in Fremont on July 25, 2025. (Fremont Police Department)

Multiple surveillance cameras captured Katie Hong walking alone from her home on Queens Park Court to Irvington Community Park between 6:11 p.m. and 6:21 p.m. on July 25, according to the Fremont Police Department.

Police said a note, believed to be written by the teen, was left behind. It expressed her intention of “running way” and to potentially meet people known only by online screen names.

“The note indicated the people would not provide her with their true names, and it does not appear that Katie met these people prior to her being missing,” police said.

Search warrants and court orders authored by investigators have not yielded any information about the teen’s whereabouts or the people she may be with, police said.

“Based on the cumulative, verifiable evidence at this time, Katie is believed to be voluntarily missing,” police said, but she “is at-risk based on current circumstances.”

Before she disappeared, Katie was active on various digital platforms, including gaming, and used multiple screen names, according to police. Investigators have not found a digital footprint that was left directly by Katie since she was reported missing.

Katie is described as Korean American, about 5 feet tall and 100 pounds, with brown eyes, dark brown hair and braces.
