OAKLAND — A 15-year-old boy was shot in East Oakland early Wednesday, authorities said.

He was in stable condition at a hospital where he was being treated for at least two gunshot wounds, authorities said.
The shooting was reported around 12:05 a.m. Wednesday in the 8000 block of International Boulevard.
Police said that according to initial reports the youth was walking outside when he heard gunfire and realized he had been shot. It was not immediately known where the gunfire came from, authorities said.
The youth was able to make it on his own to a friend’s home, where his family was called, and relatives took him to a hospital, authorities said.
A motive for the shooting is under investigation and police are trying to determine if the youth was the intended target or was hit by stray bullets. No arrests have been made.
