Actress Lily Collins, star of the Netflix rom-com “Emily in Paris,” sold her remodeled Pasadena home in an off-market deal for just under $6.13 million.

Known as Case Study House No. 10, the property spans 3,425 square feet and features four bedrooms, four bathrooms and an open floor plan. William Baker of The Agency, who represented the undisclosed buyer, praised the June 20 sale as “a triumph,” highlighting the architectural significance and rarity.

“As one of only a handful of remaining Case Study Homes … its provenance, architectural purity and rarity made it a singular opportunity —the kind that rarely comes to market,” Baker said in an email.

Designed by modernist architect Kemper Nomland and his son, Kemper Nomland Jr., the house — completed in 1947 — follows the natural downward slope of its third-acre-plus lot. Although not originally commissioned as part of Arts & Architecture magazine’s Case Study House program, the home was later added because it embodied the ideals of innovative materials and techniques while fostering a connection between indoor and outdoor living spaces, according to the Los Angeles Conservancy.

The home, known for its softer modernist style, features redwood siding, concrete blocks and expansive glass, blending with its hillside setting. It is one of the few Case Study homes still intact and largely unaltered.

Today, Case Study House No. 10 is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and benefits from property tax savings under the Mills Act in exchange for its ongoing preservation.

Pasadena recognized the house with a Historic Preservation Award in 2015 after significant renovations, including the expansion of the primary suite and living room and the addition of the pool and spa.

CurbedLA.com and other news outlets reported that Kristen Wiig, a former “Saturday Night Live” cast member, bought the house in 2017 for $2.96 million. The Southern California News Group can only confirm the deed viewed at PropertyShark.com shows a private trust with Wiig’s mother, Laurie Colombo, as trustee.

In 2021, Wiig reportedly sold the house for $3.93 million to a limited liability company linked to Collins and her husband, director Charlie McDowell, according to news archives and county documents. Records identified both Collins and McDowell as residents and note several permits for remodeling, electrical work and plumbing.

The listing described the house, which sold before it was officially listed on the Multiple Listing Service, as “completely remodeled and landscaped,” highlighting its “excellent condition.”

Ted Clark and Heather Lillard of Compass represented the celebrity couple.

Collins, 36, the daughter of British pop star Phil Collins, began her onscreen career at age 2 in the BBC comedy series “Growing Pains.” Since 2020, she has gained widespread recognition for her role in “Emily in Paris,” now in its fifth season, and also serves as a producer on the series.
