Metallica, arguably the world’s biggest rock band, is set to perform at the 2025 Dreamfest on Oct. 15.
Benson Boone, the pop sensation who thrilled fans at the most BottleRock Napa Valley, is the other huge name on the bill.
The Metallica/Boone concert, which is part of Salesforce’s mammoth Dreamforce 2025 event in downtown San Francisco, benefits UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals and takes place at Chase Center and Bayfront Park.
Tickets start at $1,500, www.theconcertforkids.org.
It’s another incredible booking for this annual benefit concert, which has previously hosted the multiplatinum likes of Fleetwood Mac, Red Hot Chili Peppers, P!nk, Imagine Dragons, Foo Fighters, Janet Jackson, Alicia Keys, Lenny Kravitz, U2, Green Day and Bruno Mars.
The Bay Area’s own Metallica — which just played two big shows at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara in June — will be performing for fans in a reserved seating format inside Chase Center during Dreamfest.
Boone — who is scheduled to play a sold-out show at Chase Center on Oct. 1 — will be entertaining Dreamfest attendees in an outdoor, standing room setting at Bayfront Park.

The event will begin with an award presentation inside Chase Center “where 25-year-old UCSF patient Andrew Santos will be honored with the Colin Powell Medal of Courage for his triumph over adversity and commitment to the community,” according to a news release. “Each year, the hospital awards the special medal to a patient who has demonstrated outstanding courage, empathy, and leadership during their treatment process.”
The concert takes place after the ceremony. The evening also includes an after party with more live music, DJs, late-night buffet and more.
