San Jose police seek identity of suspect in attempted sexual assault

SAN JOSE — Police are searching for a sexual assault suspect and have requested the help of the public in identifying him.

The San Jose Police Department has asked for the public’s assistance in identifying a sexual assault suspect, who was described as a man in his 20s or 30s. (San Jose Police Department)

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his 20s or early 30s, with a height of 5’10 and a skinny to medium build, according to a press release from the San Jose Police Department.

Shortly before 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 11, 2024, police received a report of an assault and attempted felony sex crime against a woman working as a courier for a delivery services company, authorities said.

The victim had been carrying out a delivery in the area of Vonna Court and Alcazar Drive, authorities said. As she returned to her truck after the delivery, the suspect entered the truck and physically assaulted the victim. He took her to the back of the truck, where he attempted to sexually assault her as she yelled for help and fought back.

The suspect then fled, authorities added.
