About $2,500 worth of medication stolen from Los Gatos Safeway

Aug. 16

GRAND THEFT: 1:22 p.m. at Apple on North Santa Cruz Avenue. Two iPhone 16 Pros were stolen.

Aug. 17

GRAND THEFT: 11:16 a.m. at Safeway on Union Avenue. There were a total of five unreported incidents of stolen medication between June 24 and Aug. 17. The approximate loss is $2,500.

Cameras capture prowler, burglar in Los Gatos

Aug. 22

VANDALISM: 8:07 a.m. on San Benito Avenue. A caller said that their daughter smashed a window in the backyard.

PETTY THEFT: 2:01 p.m. at the Discovery Shop on West Main Street. A caller said that a woman stole some items from the shop. The loss was less than $20. The suspect was wearing jewelry with price tags attached and was seen in front of a footwear shop on West Main Street. Police were advised that the suspect was recently discharged. The incident ended in a cite and release arrest.

PETTY THEFT: 4:37 p.m. at Wells Fargo Bank on Los Gatos Boulevard. The caller said someone dropped cash on the floor to distract him after he got cash out of the ATM and took his ATM card. The caller was advised to cancel his cards.

VANDALISM: 5:02 p.m. on North Santa Cruz Avenue. Someone cracked the rear window on a gray Kia Telluride.

PETTY THEFT: 7:51 p.m. at Safeway on North Santa Cruz Avenue. The caller said a customer left their phone in a cart, and a man took the phone then bought groceries. The caller was unsure if the customer was aware it was a theft and not just them losing the phone.

Aug. 23

STOLEN VEHICLE: 12:52 p.m. on Belblossom Drive. A white 2022 Honda Accord was reported stolen. It was last seen the day before around 10 p.m. The caller said all keys were accounted for and no one has permission to drive the car.

TRESPASS: 5:26 p.m. at Los Gatos Woods on Summerwood Drive. A neighbor told the caller that her son, who is homeless, was near the clubhouse charging his phone on Saturday. The caller said her son had a recent incident with Campbell police and believes they want to talk with him. A warrant was issued for his arrest.

Aug. 24

STOLEN VEHICLE: 8:48 a.m. at West Main Street and University Avenue. A man said he parked his car near St. Luke’s Episcopal Church the night before and could not find his car in the morning. He said he was unsure if it was stolen, but still couldn’t locate his car. The vehicle is a four-door light blue Honda Civic.

VANDALISM: 11:21 a.m. on Placer Oaks Road. A caller said her blue Porsche was keyed sometime between 9:15 p.m. the night before and the following morning. She told police she suspected the perpetrator was an ex-boyfriend who is in the middle of civil litigation and was aware her camera was offline.

SHOTS HEARD: 10:27 p.m. at Vasona Oaks on University Avenue. The caller said there was possible negligent discharge from an upstairs neighbor. The caller said they weren’t injured. A juvenile went to the caller’s door and said it was an accident.
