PLEASANT HILL — A bicycle stop early Thursday led to the arrest of a man and the recovery of drugs and cash, police said.
The 46-year-old man was stopped by officers about 4:20 a.m. Thursday while riding a bicycle near his home in the 1600 block of Saint Lawrence Way for vehicle code section violations, including not stopping for a red light and having no lights on his bicycle, police Corporal Allan Roan said.
Police said he had suspected methamphetamine and approximately $3,000 in cash on him.
Police served a search warrant at the man’s home about 10:30 a.m. Thursday where they recovered more suspected methamphetamine and other drugs as well as more cash and other evidence he was selling drugs.
He was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of drugs by a person with prior drug convictions and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was being held at the Martinez Detention Facility in lieu of $40,000 bail as of Friday morning.
