Their timing couldn’t be better after the smash success of the animated KPop Demon Hunters, Netflix’s most watched film ever.  Kids and parents alike are humming songs from the soundtrack, Novak Djokovic gave a nod to the film at a U.S. Open match and fans flocked to the sing-along version in theaters across the country.

And the success of the film is fueling K-pop aspirations. If you want to be considered by these Korean powerhouses, here’s what you need to know about open calls in San Jose and Fremont:

The  Hybe Corp. and their subsidiaries have  created some of K-pop’s biggest names including BTS, Enhypen, Le Sserafim, and TXT. Hybe is also responsible in partnership with Geffen Records for the first global K-pop group Katseye, which is coming to San Francisco later this year.

Hybe subsidiary Pledis will be holding auditions at two Bay Area dance studios:

–          Enjoy Dance Studio (6076 Stevenson Blvd, Fremont) on Friday, Sept. 12 at 5 p.m.

–          Tingna Dance Studio (1510 Oakland Rd #120, San Jose) on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 6 p.m.

They are looking for talent born after 2007 of any gender and nationality. Be prepared to sing, rap, dance, model, act or show off other special talent for one minute.

Later in the month, YG Entertainment, behind the success of Blackpink and Babymonster, is also having an open call. Details:

–          Tingna Dance Studio (1510 Oakland Rd #120, San Jose) on Saturday, Sept. 24 at 4:30 p.m.

They are welcoming participants born between 2007-2014 of any gender. They are asking individuals to choose one area: singing, rapping, or dancing for one minute. Voice auditions will be acapella and dance auditions must provide their own music.
