Bay Area News Group girls athlete of the week: Quinn Pierce, Liberty water polo

Liberty water polo player Quinn Pierce is the Bay Area News Group’s girls high school athlete of the week for Aug. 25-30.

In online voting that ended at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Pierce finished with 31.4% of the votes. Los Gatos flag football player Paige Purcell took second at 27.9%.

Congratulations to all the candidates for this week’s recognition.

Pierce, a sophomore, scored three goals and had an assist, four steals and a field block in Liberty’s 15-4 win over James Logan. She also won a sprint to the ball to start the quarter.
