SAN JOSE — Firefighters responded to multiple vegetation fires near Communications Hill from Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning that are being investigated as arson, authorities said.
The fires, which were reported around 11 p.m. were along northbound Highway 87 between Hillsdale Avenue and Curtner Avenue and in the area of Communications Hill, according to a social media post from the San Jose Fire Department.
The fires were brought under control at 12:36 a.m., authorities said.
One person was treated for injuries but not taken to a hospital. The fire did not spread to any structures, firefighters said.

The cause of the incidents is under investigation by the SJFD Arson Unit, authorities said.
Fourteen fire engines, two battalion chiefs and about 60 personnel responded to the fires, authorities added.
