Drawing from her own background as a flamenco dancer and working in a variety of mediums, Pazos explores the emotional depth, cultural richness and dynamic movement of the art form.
“Flamenco has always lived deep within me,” said Pazos, a native of Cuba. “Through this work, I hope to share the passion, color and energy that continue to inspire me.”
An opening reception for the exhibit is set for Friday, Oct. 3, 5-8 p.m., featuring Spanish-themed food and drinks. For more information, visit https://www.gallery9losaltos.art/upcoming-events.
Mid-Autumn Festival
Los Altos History Museum will host its second annual Mid-Autumn Festival on Oct. 5, 1-5 p.m., featuring mooncakes, traditional Chinese crafts, cultural games and live performances for all ages.
Presented in collaboration with the Greater Los Altos Chinese Association (GLACA), the event brings together Chinese American families and the wider community to celebrate and learn about Chinese heritage and traditions.
The Mid-Autumn Festival—second only to Lunar New Year in significance—has been observed for over 3,000 years. Rooted in harvest rituals and the legend of Chang’e, the Moon Goddess, the holiday symbolizes reunion, gratitude and hope for health and happiness. Families traditionally mark the occasion by sharing mooncakes, lighting lanterns and gazing at the full moon.
The festival will feature children’s activities, teen challenges, family crafts, food and music by local youth bands. Admission is $10; museum members, children 12 and younger and seniors over 65 are admitted free. For more information, visit losaltoshistory.org/MidAutumnFest.
