Two suspects are facing criminal charges after a Tuesday night shooting at a downtown Concord parking garage injured three people.
Justino Lopez-Perez, of Bay Point, was charged with attempted murder, assault with a firearm, discharging a firearm from within a vehicle and more, according to the Concord Police Department. Erickson Melendez, of Concord, was charged with conspiracy and discharging a firearm from a vehicle.
The three gunshot victims were “treated at area hospitals and expected to survive,” the police department said in a statement.
Gunfire rang out Tuesday night in a municipal parking garage near Todos Santos Plaza, according to police, who said officers became aware of the shooting when the wounded victims arrived at the hospital.
Contra Costa County Sheriff’s deputies initially arrested two suspects. Police officers arrested a third suspect and said they found “evidence related to the shooting.”
Police have not determined a motive for the gunfire. They urged those with information to contact contact Detective Enrique Espino at (925) 671-3426.
