College Park water polo player Makena Meyers is the Bay Area News Group’s girls high school athlete of the week for Sept. 22-27.
In online voting that ended at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Meyers finished with 47.8% of the votes. Leigh volleyball player Teagan Cooling took second at 33.6%.
Congratulations to all the candidates for this week’s recognition.
Meyers, a senior, scored three goals, had two assists and added seven steals in a 13-8 win over Alhambra, then added four goals, a pair of assists and four steals in a 14-6 win over Moreau Catholic.
