The crash happened around 6:50 a.m. on Sand Creek Trail near Old Sand Creek Road, according to the Brentwood Police Department.
Police said a 39-year-old Brentwood man was riding an electric scooter when he collided with a wooden stanchion and landed in the roadway. He was not wearing a helmet.
The man was airlifted to an area hospital with a “serious head injury,” according to police.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, but police said alcohol and drugs did not appear to be a factor.
