Lara Trump offers to be alternative to Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl show

Lara Trump offers to be alternative to Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl show

The latest single of aspiring singer Lara Trump, the daughter-in-law of President Donald Trump, has only streamed 2,731 times, according to the Daily Beast. The political pundit also only has 10,000 monthly followers on Spotify, while her singing voice on her song, “Hero,” was cruelly compared to a “wild hog” by anti-Trump political strategist Rick Wilson.

But Trump apparently believes that she could offer an entertaining alternative to Bad Bunny, the Puerto Rican global superstar, who is known as the “King of Latin Trap” and who was the most streamed artist on Spotify from 2020 to 2022. The announcement that the Grammy-winning rapper and singer would be the Super Bowl LX halftime performer at Levi’s Stadium in February has incited outrage among Trump supporters because he sings in Spanish and because he has been a vocal critic of the president’s hardline anti-immigration policies.

On her Right View With Lara Trump show, the wife of Eric Trump volunteered to perform at a planned MAGA alternative to Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show, the Daily Beast reported. Trump offered up her services as she took questions from viewers, and one asked who she would like to see on the conservative halftime show, which is being produced by Turning Point USA.

“I know a lot of owners of NFL teams, a lot of people are upset about that,” Trump said about Bad Bunny’s selection, according to the Daily Beast. “I don’t know what the heck the NFL was thinking… We don’t need the NFL, we don’t need any of these woke losers to perform, we can have our own performance.”

Trump suggested some names of several musicians who could perform at the Turning Point USA show, including country star Chris Stapleton or Canadian “MAGA rap” performer Tom MacDonald — “100%,” she said.

Trump then said: “You know what? You can throw Lara Trump in there. Yeah! That’s right.”

Trump threw back her head and began laughing, according to the Daily Beast. “Imagine how upset people on the left would be if something like that happened,” Trump said. “It sorta makes me wanna offer myself up. I have not been asked, but I’m gonna offer it right now!”

Of course, it’s hard to know how serious Trump is, or whether Turning Point USA would want to include her in its lineup. Trump’s office did not respond to the Daily Beast’s request for comments.

The names of some other, more famous pro-Trump musical acts have been floated for the lineup, The Independent reported. They include Kid Rock, Ted Nugent and country star John Rich.

Turning Point USA, the MAGA youth group co-founded by slain activist Charlie Kirk, revealed last week that it was organizing its own event to compete with the upcoming Super Bowl’s halftime festivities, The Independent reported. It dubbed its Feb. 8 , 2026 entertainment as “The All-American Halftime Show” and said that “performers and even details” would be forthcoming.

As some conservative pundits went so far as to claim that Bad Bunny is not American, apparently forgetting that Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory, House Speaker Mike Johnson insisted that the recording artist was a “terrible” pick and “not someone who appeals to a broader audience,” The Independent also reported.

When his high-profile Super Bowl gig was announced, Bad Bunny celebrated the news as a victory for the Latino community. “What I’m feeling goes beyond myself,” Bad Bunny said in a statement. “It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown … this is for my people, my culture and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL.”

California Gov. Gavin Newsom also celebrated the news on social media, saying, “California is excited to welcome you to Super Bowl LX.” Bay Area officials likewise hailed Bad Bunny’s selection with Host Committee president and CEO Zaileen Janmohamed saying, “We are confident that Bad Bunny will deliver an unforgettable experience for fans in Levi’s Stadium and watching globally. This selection further amplifies the Bay Area’s position as a premier destination for world-class events, and we look forward to a spectacular show that showcases the unique spirit and diversity of our region.”
