McDonald’s will bring back its popular Halloween Boo Buckets on Tuesday, Oct. 21.

The plastic trick-or-treat containers will be available while supplies last. They come with the purchase of a Happy Meal, which comes with either a hamburger or Chicken McNuggets and cost about $4.99-$6.19.

McDonald’s first introduced Boo Buckets in 1986. They were discontinued in 2016 but brought back in 2022.

There are five designs with loveable, slightly eerie faces. In addition to the orange pumpkin, white ghost and green goblin, there will be a red zombie and a black cat.

Now for the copy cats.

Burger King’s trick-or-treat bucket, first offered in 2023, is already available for $2 with purchase. It features a series of anthropomorphic menu items such as onion rings strolling through a graveyard in Halloween costumes.

Free paper crowns are available with a similar design.

The bucket is part of a Monster Menu that includes a Jack-O-Lantern Whopper on an orange bun with black sesame seeds; Vampire Nuggets (chicken nuggets shaped like fangs and bats); and a purple and white Franken-Candy Sundae topped with Oreo crumbles, according to a news release.

Dunkin’s Munchkin Bucket went on sale on Wednesday, Oct. 15. It’s a black plastic bucket with a purple lid topped with a spider. An empty bucket costs about $5. With Munchkins, which are doughnut holes, it costs about $17.99.

Dunkin’s Halloween menu includes purple-fronts Spider Donuts and a new Candy Bar Signature Latte, which according to a news release is made with chocolate, toffee, pretzel and peanut butter flavors.
