The nationally recognized Johnny Doughnuts shop, a cult favorite from Marin County, will be expanding to San Jose — and baking delights like the Maple Bacon Glazed, the Chocolate Salted Caramel Old-Fashioned and the Wild Berry Jam Bismarck.
The Silicon Valley shop will be located at Santana Row, according to news first announced by the Business Journal. No projected opening date has been announced.
Founded in 2012 as a food truck by restaurant industry veteran Craig Blum, Johnny served tech industry and other corporate clients before opening brick-and-mortar shops.
“We create nostalgic, classic-style doughnuts, but in a very elevated way — using locally sourced flour, dairy and fresh fruits,” Blum told the Santa Rosa Press Democrat this year in announcing a new Napa shop.
The Food Network has rated Johnny among the Top 5 Doughnuts in America, and the “Eat This, Not That!” website judged the vegan and classic cinnamon rolls the best in California.
